3rd Annual Members Congress
Don’t miss our third annual Members Congress! During this annual gathering, HANA community leaders and members come together to honor our shared accomplishments, deepen connections, and discuss our organizing priorities for the year ahead. Last year, more than 100 HANA community members attended!
This gathering is for anyone who wants to get more involved in our advocacy and organizing efforts to protect our community against anti-immigrant attacks and policies. If you’ve volunteered, taken classes, been part of our youth or senior programs in the past, or you simply call HANA your community, this day is for you!
People’s Academy
Join us for Building Bridges between Communities and Culture, a bilingual Korean and English community gathering exploring the connections between Black resistance art and Korean Minjung (People’s) art. Through art, conversation, and a collaborative mural activity, we’ll reflect on shared histories of survival, resistance, and community care while imagining what solidarity can look like in everyday life. All are welcome!
IGNR x June Membership: Drumming + Picnic
What blooms when ICE melts? Korean drumming has long been used as a symbol of resistance and liberation, representing courage, solidarity, and a renewed sense of community togetherness. Join us for It’s On Us: A Day of Art and Action to experience the power of drumming as a form of protest and solidarity with HANA’s drumming group, IlGwaNoRi (IGNR). IGNR will start the day with a pungmul (traditional Korean drumming) performance at Horner Park before hosting a drumming workshop for the public. We’ll finish the event with a picnic with light food and refreshments.
